QUESTIONS THAT I RECEIVED ON 1/29/25
Do you provide the tags for at home printing? - No, please read the at home section below. You'll have to purchase those labels.
Do dealers provide the tags for printing at the store? - NO, we use thermal roll printers and will have the tags needed free of charge. The goal is to get everyone switched over by 11/30/25.
Will there be an added fee for this new platform? - There has been no notice that our fees or percentage will change. It's normal operations.
Will there be an area in the mall we can make the tags and put on our items? - There is not a Dealer work area. Tagging and placing your items is a step that is easily done at the same time. You can always have your tags printed and take them home with you or print from home. Whatever makes the most sense for your situation.
Do I have to put the tag directly on the item? - You can attach tags to items however you'd like. You just can't crease the barcode. Some Dealers will like that they are very sticky (minimizes any tag swap) but we want to avoid damaging items. I'll be doing a video on all the creative ways to attach tags... Get you thinking outside the box.
Are bar codes assigned by the system when you enter items online? - Yes, the bar codes will be generated by our POS software. The bar code relates to Simple Consigns unique item number.
Can you please clarify what you mean by the phased time line of getting tags switched over? Yes, please look at the timeline below.
TAGGING ITEMS
(the old way)
You can continue to tag items in the standard old way. I encourage you to bring items in so it doesn't affect your sales. Below "OLD WAY OF DOING TAGS" reminds you that this is the standard format of doing your Dealer tags. Even after the migration on 2/19/25 you'll still be able to tag in the old format. On May 1st any new merchandise must be tagged thru the barcoding system of Simple Consign.
PRINTING AT THE STORE
A. Items that you have submitted on the portal - As soon as they are inputed and submitted we can print. You can submit items from the store on your phone while working on the space... or do it from home. If you're a fast typer the computer is always more efficient. We'll need to know what type of tag you want printed... click, click, click, print. Done!
B. If you send me a large database (how to set up database fields coming ASAP) I'll review it, upload, and then they will be ready to print. From the beginning I'll have so many spreadsheets to review. Please submit the database by noon and I'll have them uploaded for you to get tags printed by the time we open the next day. Even if you have 1000 tags.... click, click, click, print. done!!!
PRINTING FROM HOME
A. If you input items on the portal and print tags from home you just load your tag paper in your printer, select what you'd like to print, and done. Attach your tags at home and bring in the items.
B. IF you give me a database and would prefer to use the size tags that you can print at home... it's still an option. Submit database by noon for it to get uploaded for the next day.
